Charles Papillo Poster

While working at JDK Design, I created this poster for an art show. The primary challenge was connect the design to the artist’s work, as if he himself had created it by hand. To accomplish this, the type is scanned from his handwriting. Small details, such as the rough edge of the image and textured background, help convey the illusion that it could be hand-made.

To help the poster stand out on bulletin boards around the city, I chose an unusal format: 5.5 x 17 inches.
