AIGA Vermont Student Design Challenge

January 2010

The Vermont Chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, held a student design challenge in partnership with Champlain College. Entrants were tasked with envisioning a bike sharing program for the city: planning its structure, designing an identity, and creating a launch campaign.

I researched existing programs in other cities, and analyzed Burlington’s unique features to develop a viable system. I crafted a logo and visual vocabulary to foster an emotional attachment with the bike-riding experience, and planned advertisements that worked in conjunction with existing forms of transportation.

Entries were shown in a public exhibition, where a jury awarded my efforts Best in Show.
